Couldn't load pickup availability
RAFFLE TICKETS to help Ichabod(see photos). Tickets are $10 each and there's no limit on how many you can purchase. ALL funds will go directly to my local friend Jessica, Ichabod's mama, to help fund his urgent medical care. He is scheduled for a very expensive surgery in about two weeks. More on that below.
The drawing will take place in my Instagram Stories, via my main account LUPANYXA on Sunday, March 2nd at 12pm Pacific. You don't have to be watching, as I will be contacting the winner immediately following. For every $10 ticket purchased, you will get your name in the hat.
Winner will get to choose one of these two pair of earrings(see photos and video). Both are one-of-a-kind and all sterling silver. The flower pair feature natural, beautiful, polychrome Stone Mountain Turquoise and the flowers were entirely handfabricated from sterling wire. The long leaf pair feature gorgeous amber from Chiapas with rose cut Mozambique Garnet. If enough tickets are purchased, I'll pick two winning tickets!!
More details of why I'm doing this below. Those who know me, know I'm a huge dog lover, rescuer and will do anything in my power to help them.
I first met Jessica a few years back when she worked at the Rheumatology Clinic I go to at OHSU. She's a caring, endlessly supportive and wonderful human.
The following is in Jessica's words when I asked her what she does for a living:
"I work as a patient access specialist OHSU plastic and reconstructive surgery, where we provide gender affirming care, hand surgery, pediatric and adult craniofacial surgery, reconstructive surgery for cancer and major accidents. I left the clinic I was working for to come here after I witnessed a transgender youth being denied care. I wanted to help our transgender community and I feel that transgender rights is the social justice issue of our time.
I have Ehler’s-Danlos syndrome, a genetic connective tissue disorder that means my joints often subluxate and I have a host of other associated conditions, including Chiari 1 malformation. This means part of my cerebellum is herniated into my spinal column and periodically blocks proper spinal fluid flow, this causes headaches, neck pain, balance issues, and other symptoms that mean my body doesn’t always function the way I’d like it to."
Her 11 year old dog, Ichabod has been very sick lately. He lives with an auto-immune disease called Chronic Ulcerative Paradental Stomatitis, or CUPS for short. This causes his immune system to attack his gums and oral mucosa in response to any buildup of tartar or calculus on his teeth. He has had corrective procedures in the past to remove problematic teeth and treat active ulcers, and he is currently in need of another procedure to treat an oronasal fistula that has developed.
Jessica is a very devoted dog mom to Ichabod, but understandably, in our current economic environment, has some financial limitations when it comes to an urgent medical bill of this magnitude.
